Example of Lobby Signage

Configuring Lobby Signage

Add Lobby Signage to a Map

  1. In the Map Editor, open the map you want to add Lobby Signage to.
    1. Note: The map must be live for Lobby Signage to run.
  2. On the right-hand side of the page, go to the Objects tab > Data > Lobby Display.
  1. Click on the Lobby Display button and then click where you would like to place the Lobby Signage icon on the map.
  1. Click Save and close the map.

Running Lobby Signage

  1. Select the IT & Cloud from the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Lobby Signage tab located at the top of the screen. This will open the Manage Lobby Signage page.

Permissions required to view this page are either Admin/Account Admin users or users with the IT Management menu enabled, and either “Group members have full access to all IT Management features and content” or “Group members can manage Lobby Signage”.

  1. On the Manage Lobby Signage page, you will find the Login URL and User Name
    1. Login URL: Clicking this URL will automatically launch Lobby Signage in a new browser tab and automatically sign the device right in - this is a pre-authenticated URL so no entry of a User Name or Password is required.
    2. User Name: This can be changed, and a password can be created by clicking on the Lobby Signage Controls option at the top of the screen.  Creating a password is only necessary when logging directly into Lobby Management using the following URL format: https://{companysubdomain}.maptician.com/lobby-signage/

Managing Lobby Signage

The Manage Lobby Signage page is for controlling and managing your Lobby Signage.  Below are the various functions and features of this page.

  • Name: This is the name of the Lobby Signage. This is configured in Map Editor as shown below:
  • Office: This is the city and state of the location the map is in.
  • Location: This is the floor and suite of the map.
  • Login URL: This is a pre-authenticated URL and does not require entry of a User Name or Password.  The URL can be changed by using the “New Login URL” control which is listed under the Lobby Signage Controls menu.
  • Version Running: This is the Maptician Lobby Signage version that the device is currently running.
  • Last Status: This is the last time the Lobby Signage was online and syncing with Maptician.
  • IP Address: This is the network address of the device that Lobby Signage is running on.
  • User Agent: This displays the operating system information of the device that Lobby Signage is running on.

Customize Lobby Signage

By going to Lobby Signage Controls > Signage Options, you can customize the look and behavior of your Lobby Signage to create the best experience for your users and visitors.

Theme & Appearance Settings

Select from preset accent themes to match your organization’s style: Maptician Blue, Maroon, Forest, or Plum. These themes instantly update the signage’s overall appearance for a cohesive branded look.

Content Display Settings

Control how your Lobby Signage behaves based on the type of display you’re using.

  • Interactive Displays: Designed for touchscreen or user-driven signage. Keep People, Rooms, Points of Interest (POI), and Seats visible so users can search and explore directory information directly on the screen.
  • Non-Interactive Displays: Ideal for wall-mounted or non-touch displays. Hide UI panels and content controls to create a clean, display-only view. The signage will automatically rotate between selected floor maps.

Additional options:

  • Map-Only Mode: Hides all user interface elements for a simplified, display-only experience.
  • Display Specific Maps: Choose which maps at the current location are shown in the signage rotation. The map containing the signage display will always be included automatically.
  • Content Visibility: Select which types of content appear on signage. Disabling People also disables Seats.

Both modes include auto-rotating map thumbnails at the bottom of the display and a dynamic center map view.

Map Context Settings

  • Custom Header Line: Add a personalized text banner (up to 250 characters) for announcements or context.

Timer Settings

  • Map Auto-Rotation (seconds): Set how long each floor plan remains visible before rotating to the next one.

Logo Upload Options

Upload your company’s logo to personalize the signage:

  • Supported Formats: PNG, JPG, and WEBP.
    • Recommended: Use a PNG with a transparent background.
  • Dark Mode Logo: Upload an alternate version for Dark Mode displays.
