How to add new seats to the map within the Map Editor tool.

Note: The steps for adding seats in the Map Editor tool may be followed for adding parking spaces, lockers, and assets as well.


Add a Seat to the Map: Option 1

Add a Seat to the Map: Option 1
  1. Navigate to the Map Editor tab.
  2. Select the location and map to open.
  3. Click Load. 
  4. In the menu to the right, locate the Objects tab.
  5. Click on the Data tab.
  6. Click Seat.
  7. Click anywhere on the map to drop the seat in that location.

Add a Seat to the Map: Option 2

  1. Hover the mouse arrow over the map canvas.
  2. On your keyboard, press CTRL + E. 
  3. A seat appears. Use your mouse to move it to the desired location on the map.
  4. Right-click on your mouse to place it.

Add a Seat to the Map: Option 3

  1. On the map, locate a seat you wish to duplicate.
  2. Click on the desired seat.
  3. On your keyboard, press CTRL + D.
  4. Right-click on the duplicate seat and hold.
  5. Drag and drop it in the desired location.

Seat Settings - Info

  1. Select the Seat of interest 
  2. Locate the Info tab to configure the following:
    • Name
    • Extension
    • Seat Type
    • Department - Map Editor Basics - Seat Department 
    • Seat Usage - Map Editor Basics - Seat Usage 
    • Seat Features

Seat Settings - Labels

  1. Select the Seat of interest 
  2. Locate the Labels tab to configure the following:
    • Label Visibility 
      • None
      • On Select
      • Always
    • Preferred text alignments
      • Left aligned
      • Middle aligned
      • Right aligned
    • Which labels are needed 
      • Show Seat Name
      • Show Seat Assignment
      • Show Assigned Extension
    • Label color  
    • Font size
    • Label Width
    • Label Alignement
      • Pinned Side
        • Determines where the label appears relative to the seat icon. The label will automatically pin to the selected side.
          • Bottom (default).
          • Top
          • Left
          • Right
      • Label Text Rotation
        • Match Seat Rotation (default) - When the seat is rotated, the label rotates with it and remains aligned with the pinned side.
        • Ignore Seat Rotation - The label remains upright regardless of the seat’s rotation, while still appearing in the pinned position.
      • Text Inversion
        • Prevent Inverted Text (default) - Ensures that even if a seat is rotated upside down, the label text remains right-side up and readable.
        • Allow Inverted Text - The label and its text rotate fully with the seat, which may result in upside-down text if the seat is rotated accordingly.

Seat Settings - Display

  1. Select the Seat of interest 
  2. Locate the Display tab to configure the following:
    • Image Size
      • Tiny
      • Small
      • Medium
      • Large
    • Icon Image
      • Profile
      • Laptop
      • Parking
      • Locker
      • etc.
    • Rotate
      • Predefined rotation angles
      • Custom degree value

Turn on Social Distancing

  1. Select the Seat of interest 
  2. Locate the Seat Tab 
  3. Locate the Distancing Tab 
  4. Select the Social Distancing checkbox 
  5. Decide whether to use Color Warnings or not 
  6. Decide on using Wall-Aware or not 
  7. Decide if visible only in Editor/Assignments or not 
  8. Edit the radius of the distancing ring 
  9. Edit the color if desired

Restricted Reservations 

  1. Select the seat of interest.
  2. Locate the Seat Tab and make sure the Seat Usage is set to "Reservable".
  3. Locate the Reservations Tab.
  4. Select the Permitted Reserver(s) textbox.
  5. Select the person(s) allowed to reserve that seat.
  6. Click "Set" once the reservers are selected.
  7. Permitted Reserver(s) will automatically update.

Convert to Owned Reservable

  1. Seats must be assigned to occupants  
  2. Select Seat of Interest 
  3. Locate the Seat Tab 
  4. Locate the Reservations Tab 
  5. Select “Convert to Owned Reservable” 
  6. Seat will automatically convert from Assignable use-type to Reservable use-type and will be restricted to that occupant for reservations

Bulk Seat Edits 

  1. Multi-select seats of interest 
    1. Hold CTRL + Click seats of interest 
    2. With all but the seats layer locked, left-click and drag a box around the seats of interest 
    3. SHIFT + S to select all seats on a floorplan 
  2. Make needed bulk edits 
    1. Seat Type 
    2. Departments and Department Restrictions 
    3. Seat Usage Type 
    4. Label and Display Settings 
    5. Distancing Rings 
    6. Convert to Owned Reservable (if seats were already assigned to occupants)
