What is a Scenario?
The Maptician Scenario tool allows you to create “sand-boxed” versions of your office in order to experiment with different layouts, seat assignments, or even architecture.
Changes you make to the scenario do not affect the original map unless the scenario is activated.
Create a Scenario
Follow the instructions below to create a new scenario:
- Navigate to the Locations tab.
- In the top navigation menu, click Scenarios.
- In the location drop-down menu, select the location for which you wish to create a scenario.
- Select the preferred map for which you wish to create a scenario.
- Click Branch Scenario.
-
Name your new scenario.
- When naming a scenario, be descriptive about its intent. For example, "Alternate Seat Layout" or "50% Capacity".
- Click Branch Scenario to create the scenario.
Once created, the scenario is an exact copy of your original map. This allows you to make changes to the scenario without impacting the original floor plan.
Create a Scenario: Alternate Method
- Navigate to the Map Editor Tab.
- Select Load Map.
- Select the specific location and map for which you wish to create a scenario.
- Select Load.
- To the right of the screen, navigate to the Info tab.
- Click Create Scenario.
- Select Continue.
-
Name the scenario.
- If there are multiple scenarios branching from a single map, create a specific name to help you identify it more easily.
- Click Create Scenario.
