Resource restrictions can be placed on all resource types (Rooms, Seats, Parking, Assets, and Lockers) individually at the global level, and even on a per-location basis. These settings allow you to control how far in advance and for how long reservations can be made. If a location has a restriction set on any of its resource types, it will override the corresponding global setting.

Note: Admin users and users in Permission Groups with “Group members can override reservable resource restrictions in permitted locations” enabled will bypass these settings and can schedule reservations for any duration and any date in the future.

Before You Start

• To be able to set the global setting, you must have account admin access.
• To be able to set the location reservation restrictions, you must have access to edit a location: Permission Groups > Locations Menu > Group members can edit locations

Resource Restrictions: Global Setting

To access the global settings, navigate to Settings (top-right gear icon) > Reservations > Advance Reservation & Max Reservation Length. From there, you can configure your global resource restriction settings.

Global: Maximum Advance Reservation Time

The Maximum Advance Reservation Time setting allows organizations to control how far in advance users can make reservations for each resource type.

These settings control how far in advance users can make reservations for each resource type. Enter the number of days in each field to define the maximum reservation window. If no value is set for a resource type, users will be able to make reservations as far in advance as they want assuming the location doesn't have a value configured for it.

• Max Room Advance Reservation Time (days): Restricts how far in advance users can schedule room reservations.
• Max Seat Advance Reservation Time (days): Restricts how far in advance users can schedule seat reservations.
• Max Parking Advance Reservation Time (days): Restricts how far in advance users can schedule parking reservations.
• Max Locker Advance Reservation Time (days): Restricts how far in advance users can schedule locker reservations.
• Max Asset Advance Reservation Time (days): Restricts how far in advance users can schedule asset reservations.

Global: Maximum Reservation Length

The Maximum Reservation Length setting controls the maximum duration (in hours) of a single reservation for each resource type. 

To set a limit, enter the maximum number of hours allowed for each resource type. If the field is left blank, users will be able to make reservations of any length.

• Max Room Reservation Length (hours): Limits how long a room reservation can be.
• Max Seat Reservation Length (hours): Limits how long a seat reservation can be.
• Max Parking Reservation Length (hours): Limits how long a parking reservation can be.
• Max Locker Reservation Length (hours): Limits how long a locker reservation can be.
• Max Asset Reservation Length (hours): Limits how long a asset reservation can be.

Resource Restrictions: Location Setting

To access the location settings, navigate to Locations > Manage Location > Edit Location > Reservations. From there, you can configure resource restriction settings specific to that location.

Location: Maximum Advance Reservation Time
